Parent Guide

Arrival and Departure:

It is imperative that parents and caregivers understand the importance of structure and consistency. All of our preschool centers’ teachers work very hard to create a secure, happy, stable environment for our children. As it is very disruptive for all of the children if some students arrive late, we ask that parents respect drop off and pick up time.

In addition, please notify your day care center in advance if another authorized person will be picking up your child. Written permission using our Emergency Release and Authorized Contacts form must be received before we will release a child. Photo identification will also be necessary for any authorized persons to pick up a child. If written consent and/or proper identification are not received, the child will not be released.

Withdrawal:

BumbleBeesRus day care centers reserves the right to request the withdrawal of any child for reasons we deem consistent with the best interest of the school. In this case a pro-rated portion of the tuition will be refunded. Parents should give at least 2 weeks notice if they need to withdraw from our program.

Conferences:

Please refrain from distracting your child’s teacher with an impromptu doorway conference. We respect our children greatly and do not want to discuss any concerns in front of them. All of our teachers are more than happy to set up private appointments with parents, and they are also available for phone conferences. We appreciate any and all feedback and any concern that a parent might have, is taken seriously and we will work together to form an appropriate solution. It is important that we keep the lines of communication open.

Meals:

Meals are cooked fresh daily and catered to most of our centers, which includes morning snack, lunch and supper. If your child can not eat the planned meals due to a special diet, allergies or other such circumstances, please speak with your Center Director directly so we can work together to make appropriate accommodations.

Parents of infants, (under the age of 12 months) are asked to supply all food items/formula for their babies. Additionally, we ask that parents of infants provide us with a detailed schedule of how their baby is cared for at home, so that we can replicate their individual schedules as much as possible. It is especially difficult to leave a young baby to the care of others and we do our best to make it as easy as possible for all concerned.

Toilet Training:

Toilet training will begin when appropriate for each child based on their age and stage of development. Parents will be consulted on the methods used at home. Daily feedback will be provided on each child’s progress at the program. Children will be offered frequent opportunities for toileting, particularly after meals and before/after nap time.

Illness:

Children with a temperature of 100 degrees or above are not permitted in the preschool center and they cannot return to school until they are 24 hours fever-free.

We want the preschool center to be a healthy environment for all. Also, please contact the school if your child will be absent due to any contagious disease (chicken pox, pink eye, lice, etc.) so we can discreetly inform the other parents and staff of any additional health precautions that must be undertaken. In addition, those children cannot return to school without a doctor’s note which clearly states that they are not contagious.

The families of children who become ill at school (fever, vomiting, diarrhea, rash etc.) will be notified and are expected to pick up their child in a timely fashion. Children need to be fever-free, vomit-free, and diarrhea-free for 24 hours before returning to school.
